About the owner

Blake Rodevick grew up in Millersville, Maryland. Where his Grandfather and Uncle shared a large garage in his backyard. In high school, Blake took an interest in downhill skateboarding, as well and riding anything with a motor.

In 2012, Blake started a business for resurfacing flat-spotted skateboard wheels using a homemade attachment for his Grandfather’s lathe. He named it Eastern Wheel Modders.

In 2016, while attending Towson University, Blake bought his first electric skateboard for commuting. After having it break down, he realized he was the only one in the area who would be willing to try to fix it.

discovering The dc pev Community

After moving to DC in late 2019, Blake discovered the DC personal electric vehicle community. One of the largest PEV communities in the country. This is where he discovered electric scooters, electric unicycles, and One Wheels.

In February 2023, Blake applied for a job as an electric scooter mechanic for E-Mile: The Electric Ride. He became the head mechanic within a few months, and has since repaired over 250 scooters from 53 brands in the span of two years.

Creating A Home shop

As of September 2024, Blake purchased a home in Brightwood DC. Allowing him to run his own shop, Voltage Vet, out of the basement.
